Exercise Pearls for New Moms is a manual designed for women to help restore their strength and body awareness. Exercise Pearls for New Moms was created by one of our physical therapists, Maureen Mason-Cover, MSPT, ACE. This manual evolved from her personal experience as a mom as well as her expertise as a women’s health specialist in physical therapy.
New mothers need attention for nurturing and rebuilding their bodies from the stretching and weakening that can happen during pregnancy. Walking, performing house and infant care, and possibly even returning to work will gradually strengthen your body. However, you still need to target and rebuild your abdominals, back and pelvic muscles with key exercises.
The exercise "Pearls" will help you live life to your optimum potential. Beyond the immediate effects of pregnancy, moms several years post-partum may be more prone to discomfort from overstretched ligaments and weakened muscles. Activating pelvic muscle toning, secret corset bracing, and super mom poses can engage and empower you to a more stable, powerful body.
